T.M.B: What exactly is ADEENYC?

REMY: ADEENYC is just the name of the store for ADEEN and because we're based out of NYC. I thought it was clever haha But ADEEN the brand is basically a lifestyle brand. Right now we are concentrating on accessories but hopefully one day it will grow into something much much bigger.

T.M.B: What got ADEENYC started? Inspired it?

REMY: ADEEN got started as a blog but then turned into a brand because I felt that was the next logical step. It was inspired by everything I love. Jovany too, but he only has one piece of product out right now. You'll be seeing more from him soon though!

T.M.B: So is it just you or are other people also behind ADEENYC?

REMY: Yeah it's Jovany Perez and I. My mom acts as a business manages and I have friends of mine who help out with a lot of different aspects of the business. 

T.M.B: What's "for sale" at your store?

REMY: The underwear, all of the pushie pins, the new hats and Great Scott's books!

T.M.B: Since you were a kind, was fashion something you thought about, or did you think you'd be like a doctor or police officer?

REMY: Fashion was no where NEAR my mind. I didn't even know what Louis Vuitton was in the 8th grade. I wanted to be a cartoonist so cartoons and stuff were literally all my life consisted of. Nothing else.

T.M.B: I love fashion and would like to get into it, but for you what's the best part about what you do?

REMY: To see your creations come to life. To draw something and then have it come to fruition and then have people clamor to buy it. It's the greatest feeling.

T.M.B: A lot of people define "ART" as different things, what's you're take or philosophy on what "ART" is?

REMY: Art is an expression of how you feel and who you are. Whether it be in the simplest form or something super intricate. That's why something Andy Warhol does is art and something Michael Angelo did is art. It's all about who they were and how they felt.

T.M.B: I know a lot of guys get inspiration from people like Kanye West. Is he also inspiring to you or someone else?

REMY: He is, but only to a certain extent. I don't FIEND over Kanye West. I personally think I dress better than him haha but that's my own opinion. I respect the hell out of Kanye West and love his music. The most inspiring person to my style wise is Conan Edogawa, the main character from the cartoon Case Closed. Also Zack Morris from saved by the bell.

T.M.B: Some people's style reflects their designs, do you think you're personal style can be seen in AdeenNYC?

REMY: Haha Definitely! That’s basically the definition of my designs. I don’t make it if I wouldn’t wear it. Everything I make not only is a reflection of my personal style but also is a reflection of my personality. 

T.M.B: We love style over here at The Messenger Bag so could you describe you're style? 

REMY: I'd say something corny like Cartoon Chic haha but I'd just say its just dressing however I feel on a given day. It’s my “art” aside from design. It’s a daily expression of who I am and how I feel.

T.M.B: What's you're favorite item in you closet right now?

REMY:These comfy ass drop crop sweat pants from TopMan. I get compliments on them wherever I go. They are literally the first thing I pop on when I wake up in the morning and if I don’t feel like getting dressed dressed, they are super nice so I still kill the streets haha 

T.M.B: So what trends, old or new, are you into?

REMY: Meh, I hate most trends. Cuz they’re hot for like 2 seconds then I feel stupid for ever being into them. But I love this Indian blanket stuff. I have for a while but now it’s popular. 

T.M.B: Some people have started businesses over a "in the moment" drive, was it like that with AdeenNYC?
REMY: Ummmm No not really. It was built up over time, and a sort of culmination of events that led me to make my first piece. I don't think it would be real if it was a just in the moment thing.

T.M.B: So that's it from ADEENYC, Could this be greatness in the making? ... so keeping checking it out [especially the blog] so when it gets big big you'll be like "oh please knew about ADEENYC, a long time ago, where have you been?" LOL.
